Rules the structure follows

  1. One home per thing. Every paper, person and award lives in one place; other pages link or filter to it.
  2. Tabs and filters, not pages. Media, awards and events are filters of News; alumni, stories and photos are tabs of People.
  3. No dropdowns. Five words in the menu, one button, and ⌘K search reaching every page, paper and person.
  4. Public vs members. The handbook is public, since applicants like seeing how the lab works, but kept out of the way of visitors.
  5. Two levels, max. Section → page. Microsites (JoulesEye, SentinelKilnDB, VayuBuddy, Summer School) stay separate and are linked.
